Cheryl Hilpert of Wichita, Kansas, and C.J. Rhody, of Jupiter, Florida, were married November 13, 2010.
The bride earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Wichita State University. She currently works as a Public Relations and Digital Media Specialist in a Senior Marketing position. Cheryl is the daughter of Thomas and Deborah Hilpert.
The groom, C.J., is a graduate of the University of Florida's Rinker School of Building Construction, with a Bachelor's degree in Science in Building Construction. He has a career as a Construction Project Engineer. C.J. is the son of Anne Rhody and the late William Rhody Sr.
Cheryl and C.J. met soon after the bride relocated from Kansas to Florida. The couple met through mutual friends on a night out in Abacoa Town Center. Cheryl and C.J. then began dating and, as the couple recounts, have been inseparable ever since.
Their engagement took place on the day before C.J. was to go back to Gainesville to complete his last year at the University of Florida. The couple spent the day boating and visiting the Jupiter Sandbar with friends. They later went to Jetty's, a Jupiter restaurant, for the bride's favorite meal of steak and lobster. The couple then visited Juno Beach, courtesy of a suggestion from the groom. As the couple watched the waves at Juno Beach, C.J. bent down on one knee and proposed. The couple shared a laugh as, out of excitement, the bride fell in the sand from jumping in her stilettos. Cheryl and C.J. returned home and toasted to their engagement with C.J.'s mother and a bottle of Champagne.
The couple was married by Reverend Robert Raylor at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tequesta, Florida. The wedding continued at the Sugar Cane Island Bistro for the reception.
The couple will reside in Boca Raton, Florida.
