Real Wedding: Suzanne Tallarico and Matthew Sellecchia
Suzanne Tallarico and Matthew Sellecchia escaped New York to have a destination beach wedding in Amelia Island on April 9, 2011. The couple hosted a weekend of Florida wedding events: a family dinner April 7; an all-guest party, complete with a pig roast and pina colladas, April 8; the wedding April 9, followed by a bonfire; and a brunch April 10. Because the couple socialized with guests during the pre-wedding events, "I didn't have to spend time [during the wedding] saying hello—we just got to party and dance," Suzanne says.
Suzanne and Matt held their Florida beach wedding and reception at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Although there wasn't a theme, "we incorporated shells in the wedding," Suzanne says. "We had a gold starfish on the invitation, the program, the menu, and as the table numbers." The couple worked with Florida wedding planner Christina Saldana, at the Ritz-Carlton, and incorporated shades of pink and white.
The bride and groom decided to have a "first look" before the ceremony—one of Suzanne's favorite parts of the day, "because after that I wasn't nervous anymore," she says. "The best part was just dancing and having fun while feeling relaxed."
The Sellecchias honeymooned in Brazil and reside in New York.
