Weddings are full of magical moments and the father-daughter dance is certainly one of the sweetest.
Cutting a rug with the man who taught you how to ride a bike, whistle with two fingers and sink a hole-in-one (twice!) is sure to wet even the dryest of eyes so picking a song that won’t auto-open your teargates may take special consideration. An uplifting melody is always best.
Once you have settled on a song (check out sites like Amazon, iTunes, and MP3 where hundreds of tracks can be downloaded for free), it’s time to freshen up your dance moves. You needn’t be Fred Astaire but if the waltz or fox trot isn’t your strong suit, consider signing up for some dance instruction prior to your wedding day.
Below, we’ve rounded up 15 of our favorite daddy-daughter songs and the lyrics we love. (Click on the title to watch the YouTube video.)
