Before Jeffrey Dils had purchased an engagement ring for Amy Lewis, spoken to her parents and proposed, he had put down the deposit on a Carillon Beach Resort wedding and secured the wedding date. That is confidence.
The Atlanta-based couple had discussed marriage and hosting a beach wedding. Jeff remembered a family friend’s vacation home in Carillon and began researching the location. He knew it was perfect when he saw how it mirrored Amy’s style—simple, elegant and beautiful—and booked September 18, 2010. Then he discussed marriage with Amy’s parents, and proposed during a trip to Chicago.
“To make a long story short, the moment after Jeff proposed to me, he so casually added that we were getting married on September 18 at Carillon Beach and that we were going down for a visit the following weekend to start planning our wedding,” says Amy. “I could not have been any happier about the location he chose.”
As a commercial interior designer, Amy knew how to blend her design aesthetic of neutrals and clean lines with the beach’s organic, natural look. “We did not want any of our decor to take away from the beach’s beauty. We kept the ceremony very simple with little to no decor. As for the reception, I wanted there to be simple centerpieces and a lot of candles,” says Amy, who worked with Carillon Weddings to coordinate the details…
