Erin Sherwood and Harold L. Jackson Jr.’s peacock-themed wedding exemplified personal style.
Erin knew from a very young age that she wanted to have a completely original wedding dress. “I had been drawing my perfect wedding dress for as long as I can remember,” she said.
On April 23, 2011, Erin married Harold L. Jackson Jr. at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. She wore a custom dress designed to fit the wedding’s peacock theme. It was sewn by Vows Tuxedos by Haley Lauren Couture. “I drew many different designs and ended up going with a vine of feathers going up my back in sheer material,” she described.
As for the rest of the wedding, Erin said she didn’t want to fuss over the little details. She wanted a beach wedding, no shoes, and toes in the sand. Erin and Harold also agreed ahead of time not to have a first dance because “neither one of us can dance.”
Her favorite part of her wedding day was seeing how excited their children were to finally see them get married. “And of course, the ‘I dos’ and first kiss,” she added.
As for the one-of-a-kind dress? She wants to make it into some kind of decor to keep in her home forever.
