We’ve all saved the pictures to our Pinterest boards—dreamy, overwater bungalows tucked in remote swatches of glowing, turquoise ocean in some of the farthest reaches of the world. (Think Bora Bora and the Maldives.) And although those locations are some of the planet’s most popular honeymoon destinations, getting there is no easy feat, with some travel times clocking in at more than 24 hours depending on the route. Enter: Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The all-inclusive resort in Jamaica—an easy jaunt from major Florida airports—recently announced that it’s now accepting bookings for its new Over-the-Water Suites for arrivals beginning November 15, 2016. The new suites are outfitted with floating water hammocks; private infinity pools, Jacuzzis, and outdoor showers; and transparent floors that allow guests to peer into the crystal-clear Caribbean waters below (see the chic bedroom below to see what we mean).
Furnishings in the new villas include polished mahogany beds with soft Egyptian linens, a neutral color palette, and minimalist, modern furniture that keep the atmosphere tranquil. And the best part? Each villa is staffed with a private butler who will see to it that guests’ every honeymoon whim is attended to.
And although it might be tempting for newlyweds to hole up in their overwater accommodations, the resort offers plenty of amenities to lure them ashore. It’s home to eight restaurants and offers activities ranging from yoga and pilates to snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, and other water sports. The resort’s Red Lane Spa offers up relaxing body massages and other indulgent services that’ll have guests feeling refreshed and ready for whatever a week in this Caribbean paradise has in store. Rates for Over-the-Water Suites from $4,321; head here to check rates and availability for your honeymoon stay.
