Jackie Bacheikov and Michael Newman’s stunning engagement shoot was inspired by Mad Men and the 1960s.
“Michael absolutely fell in love with that show from the first time he saw it, specifically because of their sense of style,” says Jackie. “We both love the vintage feel and wanted to do something a little different from your average engagement pictures, which I think we achieved!”
“We went to Zuma for my 25th birthday (I made reservations for a month in advance because I had been wanting to try the restaurant for so long!). We had an amazing dinner with drinks, but the best part was the dessert.
It came out beautifully presented with a happy birthday chocolate sign in it and a big silver fortune cookie. Since it was an Asian fusion restaurant, I did not think anything of the fortune cookie. I pull out the fortune to read,” I don’t know what the future holds but I know I want to spend it with you… Will you marry me?” I look up to see Michael holding out the ring in front of me. Of course I said yes, and I can’t wait for our wedding in March!”
Jackie and Michael’s March 2013 wedding will be a black-tie affair, with colors of black, white and touches of yellow. “It will have a lot of damask because I absolutely love that pattern, which I feel represents elegance beautifully,” says Jackie.
Photographer Emily Harris says the couple is extremely laid back and focused on the most important part of their wedding: themselves.
