It looks like Britain will soon be bracing for another wedding of royal proportions. Duchess Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, is now engaged to her dapper beau, 40-year-old hedge fund manager James Matthews. And if her engagement ring is any indication of things to come, the wedding will be spectacular.
While there’s no word yet on who made the ring or where Middleton’s new fiancé sourced it, Britain’s Hello! magazine describes it as “a decadent vintage jewel that featured a halo of diamonds around a central diamond.” Jeweler David Allen, creator of 77 Dimaonds, estimates the center asscher-cut diamond’s weight at 4 carats and the value of the ring somewhere around £200,000 ($263,170).
Regardless of the diamonds’ details, we can’t wait to see what kind of celebration Middleton and Matthews cook up—and the bevy of bridal trends that Pippa’s bound to set off in the process. Head here and here to read more about Britain’s most famous future spouses.
