If you’re in search of a wedding venue, or accommodations for your friends and family, that offers unique options for exploring Florida’s famous beaches, listen up.
South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island is giving wedding parties a new way to enjoy the beach with the introduction of a “Shelling Concierge.” The resort has partnered with on-site Sanibel Sea School to offer the concierge, who gives everything from seashell lessons to insider secrets on where to look for the most coveted shells.
What’s in it for you and your guests? During private, guided beach walks, groups can brush up on basic bivalve and gastropod biology, find out why so many seashells wash up on the resort’s shoreline (Captiva Island has more than 250 species of shells), and even learn where to look for the most coveted shells.
Details: The guided beach walks with the Shelling Concierge can accommodate up to 40 people. The cost is $250 for a two-hour session with one of the educators at Sanibel Sea School.
South Seas Island Resort is a 330-acre destination beach resort and wildlife preserve spanning two and a half miles of shell-laden beaches. The property offers 31,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space to accommodate weddings.
